The Cisco 12410 Internet Router, a member of the Cisco 12000 series, features a ten-slot chassis and switch fabric that supports 20 Gbps (10 Gbps full duplex) throughput per line card slot. Based on the architecture of the widely deployed Cisco 12000 series, the Cisco 12410 Internet Router supports distributed packet forwarding with a crossbar matrix switch that enables 10 Gbps OC-192c/STM-64c and four-port OC-48c/STM-16c interfaces while continuing to support all existing Cisco 12000 series line cards. Innovative Virtual Output Queuing (VOQ) technology (which prevents head-of-line blocking), an enhanced clock scheduler, specialized high-speed application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), and the Cisco 12000 series switch fabric offer unmatched carrier-class performance and reliability that support guaranteed priority packet delivery and true 10 Gbps line rate performance in a fully loaded system.
